Student choice assignment
In the "Students Choice Assignment", students were given the opportunity to create a game, movie ad with storyboard, or a tabloid. Each of these options gave students a chance to be creative while also requiring them to use the oral, written, and visual skills. The students were given several research tools to use including several texts on the life of Frederick Douglass, and the students were also free to use educational websites on the internet.
In the "Students Choice Assignment", students were given the opportunity to create a game, movie ad with storyboard, or a tabloid. The students were given several research tools to use including several texts on the life of Frederick Douglass, and the students were also free to use educational websites on the internet.
If students chose to create a game they were asked to provide an actual game board with game pieces, rules for the game, and they were expected to demonstrate at leastone round of the game for the class.

If students chose to create a movie ad, they were expected to take their time creating a creative ad, and they needed to include a storyboard on the back to share with the class.

If students chose to create a tabloid they were expected to create a tabloid cover, and to use two events from the text in order to create gossip columns.

•Explain each picture that goes with each article.
