Students: I kept in contact with students in the classroom, but students were also given my email which is [email protected]. I also created a twitter account that students were encouraged to contact me on because social media is a normal form of communication for them.
Families: All family members were given my email, and the classroom phone number to contact me at any time. I have maintained a call log for years to document conversations with guardians. I have attended IEP meetings in which parents were present or calling in. I have taken part in home visits which have created stronger relationships with students and families.
Colleagues: I got along well with all of my colleagues in the college classroom as well as in the high schools I have worked in. My cooperating teacher, colleagues, peers, and myself kept in contact through email, text messages, in person, and phone conversations.
I also helped put together a professional development presentation on student writing scores, school climate, and plans for improvement.
